If you have a number of old cell phones lying around the house, you can probably turn them into a bit of cash.
Sprint offers a buy back service (www.sprintbuyback.com) and will buy back certain models of phone for a modest price. If you are a Sprint subscriber, your account can be credited with the amount of the phone sold.
According to their site, Sprint will buy back phones from other carriers as well. They have been recycling phones since 2001 and have set already set a goal for 2017 to be collecting back nine phones for every 10 that they sell.
If your phone does not qualify for a credit, Sprint will still recycle your phone. The proceeds that Sprint gets from the recycling program will go to Sprint Project Connect, a charity for promoting online safety for children.
Sprint offers prepaid shipping labels that can be printed off on their website, along with instructions on how to prepare the phone for shipping.

This is good information. I hope a lot of people learn how to recycle phones.

I am really happy sprint at least offers a buyback program, even though I am mad that they are ripping me off. I just found out that sprint has a service provider known as Boost also owned by Sprint which offers way cheaper prices. My current plan with sprint is valued at half as much with Boost. If you are mad as I am mad, email Mr. Hesse the Ceo of sprint. Mr. Hesse's email can be found at the site below. sites.google.com/site/sprintcustomersunite/
