These days, selfishness can be found everywhere. In stores, customers are cutting in front of others to be first in line. Drivers speed pass other drivers to reach their destination before everyone else.
Almost every person in the world believes they are more important than everyone else. Here in Gainesville, it's no different. Even Gator fans believe they are the number one fan and will run to be the first to get into a football game.
In a marriage, selfishness should not exist. However, because humans are involved, selfishness will rear its' ugly head at some point.
After an argument, one spouse refuses to apologize, because they are always the first to say they're sorry. “But not any more.” Perhaps their spouse decides, they aren't going to take out the trash. “Just let it pile up.”
These may seem trivial, but they are just small examples. If one were to think about it, they would come up with things they purposely don't do or refuse to do in an effort to get back at their spouse. This is nothing more than selfishness.
No matter what has happened or what was said, it's important that both parties don't act badly. Always be the bigger person. By doing this, the other person will take notice and start acting differently. This is necessary in order to have a successful marriage.
Remove the selfishness out of the marriage and take it to the football game. If there has to be an argument, let it be with a UF Gator football security guard. Their first game is this Saturday at 12:21 pm.
