Selfies: Student taking selfie breaks 19th century statue

A student was in Italy taking selfies (pictures of himself) when he broke a 19th century statue by mistake. According to a video report by GeoBeats, the unidentified student was visiting the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Milan when the incident occurred.

Witnesses say that the student climbed up on the statue to try and take a selfie however the statue's leg broke off in the process. The pieces of the leg were shattered all over the floor -- and the student was no where to be found. Evidently he thought that he was going to get in trouble so he exited the museum before someone could stop him. It's unknown if any criminal action is being taken or if police are involved.

The statue was valuable but wasn't the "real" work of art -- it was just a replica of the actual statue that is located in Greece. Check out the video above for more.
