What is the script you live by? I am not talking about your faith or your ethics. The script I am referring to is the self-dialogue that continuously plays as you move through your world. It shows up in form of “I ams”. It might be, I am fat, I am broke, I am not good enough or maybe you continuously apologize for your existence? Does this sound like you?
TheHumanBehaviorCoach.com shares, “Most people aren’t even aware that they talk to themselves. They are only aware that they feel anxious or stressed…they are aware their energy is depleted as they think about what they need to do, or how frustrated they feel about their life.”
It goes on to talk about how this “running commentary… tells them what to think and how to feel.” This self-sabotaging process “views what’s happening and then tells you what’s really happening” although, this outlook is altered by the distortion of anxiety.
How can you embrace a healthier you?
TheHumanBehaviorCoach.com communicates you can change this process by first realizing self-talk exists. Pay attention to your triggers and choose your words wisely. Talk to yourself as if you talk to someone whom you care deeply about. Create mantras or “positive affirmations… to replace the negative.”
Honor yourself with the love you deserve for this endearing support will bring your healthiest, best self forward!
