Saturday, August 9, 2014: People are good at constructing their own image of the world and themselves... but it's often slightly removed from reality! Think back to late October/early November and all that happened around that time... did some minor... or major... disappointment or setback deflate the image you had of yourself or the world, take the wind out of your sails and set you adrift? If so consider the past few months a time of pulling yourself back to shore and gaining self-mastery.

Though you may not have realized it then or even now... whatever transpired during that time set you on a somewhat erratic journey to achieve a new way of being, a new sense of self, a new life and a new way of relating both to yourself and to others... and being successful at this was necessary for your future growth. And even though you've probably not yet achieved the goals you once set for yourself...over that past months you've been collecting the psychological tools necessary for attaining them. So be objective, see the possibilities and be patient.

Your renewed strength of purpose, confidence and need to shine could be tested today. Though it's only been a few months... trust that the twists, turns and back tracks along the way have made you wiser and more amenable than you were back then and have given you the psychological tools to deal better with any obstacles, delays or frustrations that comes your way.

So... Try not to take any difficulties you experience too personally today, instead... step back, be objective and do a reality check. Then drop your worries, believe in the new you, have faith that everything will turn out alright... and chill out.

Today's Quote

Courage is more exhilarating than fear and in the long run it is easier. We do not have to become heroes overnight. Just a step at a time, meeting each thing that comes up, seeing it is not as dreadful as it appeared, discovering we have the strength to stare it down. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt, You Learn By Living
