Both Selena Gomez & Madonna have unveiled their new fashion lines, they cater to girls of the same age group but have a slightly different demographic & styles. You really can't compare the two lines, it's just a matter of which style you love more. Let's talk about both.
Selena Gomez's new fashion line is called 'Dream Out Loud'. The collection consists of very feminine/Bohemian & still yet casual type clothing; mostly shirt dresses, skirts, jeans, 'hoodie' jackets & bohemian accessories. The garments are made of organic cotton; designs coming in floral prints, stripes, & plaids with various sequins, pins, & flower embellishments. Selena wanted to make sure her line was recycable-keeping the environment in her interests. Dream Out Loud was debuted in August of this year & prices range from $8.00-$20.00. This line is sold exclusively at K-Mart stores.
Material Girl is a new collection created by Madonna & her daughter Lourdes Leon; everyone calls her Lola for short. Their line is definitely more edgy & just as stylish, created & inspired by Lola's fashion style for teen girls and young adults to look different and more spunky. The line consists of many shirts, skirts, pants, shorts, dresses, jackets, handbags, & accessories. The silhouettes are both slim fitting as well as appropriate for the average teen to mix & match. Many of the designs are embellished with studs and come in colors such as black, white, and also bold neon prints. I love her style, which screams I'm a fashionable rebel and not afraid to mix & match different colors & genres. Lola can wear a tutu with fishnets, boots, and green nail polish-and it works. Anyone who also loves style with edge can pull it off; you just have to know your body type and what looks good on it. Material Girls' new spokesmodel is Taylor Momsen; actress of Gossip Girl & lead singer of The Pretty Reckless. Taylor's rocker style is perfect to showcase Material Girl. This line can be found at Macy's and prices range between $12.00-$40.00.
Both lines are very fashionable and also very much affordable. I know I would shop from both lines, because fashion varies and can be mixed & matched. At the end of the day-it depends on your fashion style and the look you love. No matter which line you choose, you can't go wrong.
