Selena Gomez has become the latest starlet to find herself embroiled in a photo scandal. She’s already facing crazy rumors that she cheated on Justin Bieber with rapper Gucci Mane, and now she’s going to have to explain a topless photo that was posted by MediaTakeOut on Feb. 23.
In the shocking photo, Selena Gomez can be seen lying on her back in a hotel room while Vanessa Hudgens snorts a substance off her chest that’s obviously supposed to be cocaine. The photo definitely looks like it’s from the set of “Spring Breakers” since Selena and Vanessa are wearing the same bikini bottoms that they can be seen rocking in the trailer for the movie. However, it’s possible that the topless photo was altered.
Perhaps Selena was wearing a top in the picture, but it was later photoshopped to make it appear like her breasts are bare. It’s also possible that a body double was standing in for Selena during this scene. It’s hard to see the actress’ face, and it’s not uncommon for starlets who are shy about showing their bodies to use doubles. Some Reddit users have pointed out that the girl in the photo is lacking the moles that Selena has her on her chest, which could support the body double or photoshopping theory. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time Selena has had to deal with fake photos.
The photo is questionable because there have been no reports of Selena Gomez getting nude in “Spring Breakers” from those who have seen the film. Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine do briefly flash a little flesh, but Selena seemingly opted to keep her bikini on during the movie. The photo might depict a scene that simply didn’t make it into the movie, and it’s very possible that Selena regretted shooting the scene and asked for it to be kept out of the final cut.
If the photo is real, Selena Gomez can take comfort in knowing that she’s not alone. Her “Spring Breakers” costar Vanessa Hudgens managed to survive a photo scandal, and there’s a long list of other starlets that have had photos leaked. Scarlett Johansson, Renee Olstead, Kat Dennings, Ashley Greene, and Rihanna have all shrugged off their leaked photos and moved on with their lives.
