Selena Gomez tattoo by Bang Bang McCurdy is written in Arabic

New ink for Selena Gomez has garnered massive social media site buzz and ultimately went viral. This happened after tattoo guru Bang Bang McCurdy permanently executed an Arabic phrase on the singer/actress' back that essentially means "love yourself first." According to E! News on July 16, Bang Bang talked to the entertainment site about the fresh flesh expression that is now the newest of Gomez' body art collection.

McCurdy told E! that the tat, which sits on Sel at her upper right side just above her bra line, was actually applied about a month ago. The "Come and Get Me" warbler was apparently a bit nervous about this getting new addition and so she brought a couple friends to join her in the inking party that took place in New York at Bang Bang's studio.

McCurdy, who retweeted an Instagram photo put up by Selena that shows an alluring shot of the artist wearing her new tat, mentioned that Gomez presented the essence of what she wanted to have put on her body before that even happened.

Bang Bang said that this particular inking is approximately four inches long and only too between 30 and 45 minutes for him to complete. The biggest challenge for this tattoo artist was where to place this particular tattoo that worked best for Selena and her sultry body.

By way of background, when Selena was 20 in 2013, she only rocked a trio of tats. She wore a low-key musical note on her wrist, the Roman numeral 76 on the back of her neck as a nod to the year of her mother's birth, and the phrase "God Who Strengthens Me,"a phrase taken from The Philippians 4:13 verse of the Bible that runs down her right hip.

That said, beyond her group of authentic tattoos, Selena Gomez also digs wearing a faux tat or two on occasion. In fact, the former Disney princess once flaunted the name of her then boyfriend Justin Bieber on her wrist when she attended a concert. However, this tattoo--much like her relationship with the superstar bad boy--was only temporary.
