They flew down the peninsula for a quick dose of Mexican sun and sand, but things did not turn out so well. Amid the swaying palms and lively mariachis, they had a blowout battle of words. “It’s just high school stuff,” reported a source, but Selena, at 20, is only barely removed from her teens, and Justin, 18, still has some maturing to do. Hey, it happens. It’s why high school sweethearts rarely last.
Photographers tried to get the facts from Selena Gomez, as she stood wrapped in a cozy muffler in Los Angeles, holding her cell. She wore her big glasses and a knit beanie. But the singer wasn’t talking. This time there were rumors of pot smoking among her problems with Justin Bieber. Justin, of course, had to get back to Los Angeles on the morning of the year’s last day, because he had a live gig to do a couple of numbers on the Ryan Seacrest extravaganza. And there was no point in hanging around the romantic resort, when the bird had flown away. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber will have to come a long way back to make this right.
