Selena Gomez served papers in Justin Bieber assault case

Selena Gomez got blindsided last week leaving a convenience store in Los Angeles when she was unexpectedly served some legal papers in the form of a subpoena summoning her to testify in an assault case centering upon her off again, on again boyfriend, Justin Bieber

According to a March 29 report from Fox News, that subpoena has now officially dragged the former Disney Channel star into the middle of Bieber’s alleged assault on a paparazzo that went down when Gomez and the Biebs were on a May 2012 date in Calabasas, Calif.

Although Gomez and Bieber split the scene before the cops arrived, a statement released from the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station back in May 2012 read:

"The victim complained of pain and requested medical attention. Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded. The victim requested a criminal report be taken regarding the incident and an allegation of misdemeanor Battery report was taken at the scene.”

Gomez and Bieber had a fairy tale romance going on through 2012, but had split by the following year. In January 2014, Gomez put her career on hold and voluntarily entered rehab. Early speculation was that she was broken hearted over her split with Bieber.

Following a surprise dirty dancing session at a McAllen, Texas dance studio on March 11, the speculation is now that the once fairy tale romance is on again.

On March 26 in Oakland, Calif., Gomez spoke to fans at the We Day conference about her decision to enter rehab, saying that “I lost sight of who I was.”
