Selena Gomez On Loosing Herself

The former Disney Channel actress has been dealing with a lot like her on again, off again romance with trouble maker Justine Bieber, dropping the F-boom at a concert and a recent rehab stay; it is safe to say that this year as started of rocky for her. However, instead of dwelling on these mishaps the "Spring Breakers" stars has taken the philosophy of looking on the bright side and learning from her mistakes.

Selena took the stage at the We Day conference in Oakland, California where she gave an emotionally revealing speech about her trip to rehab and peer pressure. The 21-year-old was the featured speaker at the We Day conference and showed people a more raw, personal side to herself. “I am not an activist. I haven’t changed the world or led a campaign,” Selena said. “I’m here to just tell you my path so that you can hopefully take something away from it because I don’t like being honest with press and interviews. I like being honest with you directly.”

Throughout her speech she talked about her biggest inspiration, her mother, the pressure of letting other people decided who you are and she shared the best advice she has ever been given -“to always trust in yourself.” She end by leaving fans with one wish, “I hope I can inspire each and every one of you to just trust yourselves and to love and be loved . . . this is such a beautiful thing you’re doing. Be proud of yourselves!”
