Selena Gomez: Is she jumping ship too early?

Selena Gomez and her band “The Scene” have parted ways as the young pop star now wants to try her hand at being a movie star. How lucky this young woman is to have all these options opened for her today. Selena said she wants to take a break from the music for a while and concentrate on making films, according to the Toronto Sun.

While the former “Wizards of Waverly Place” star didn’t make it to the heights of the music scene that her other half Justin Bieber did, she really didn’t give it enough time. She was moving up the ladder with gold records, awards and sold-out concerts, so taking a break right now might mean this isn’t the type of life she wants.

If she does decide to go back after making a few movies, it will probably be a lot tougher as the music business doesn’t stop and wait for anyone. Chances are she won’t be able to pick up right where she left off; it takes hard work to keep your fan base going. She might just be jumping ship too early and hopefully she doesn't regret it.

While Selena’s put a lot of hard work into getting where she is today with her music, it’s more like she “dabbled” in the business in comparison to the time and sweat equity most big entertainers put in before reaching the top, just ask Bieber!

Splitting up with her band might be a big mistake on her part; she should have hung in there a little bit longer to see where she could go with it. If she stays away long enough she might ruin her chances altogether of becoming one of the greats. Hopefully she becomes a new blockbuster name in the movies and finds out this is what she’s meant to do.

Connecticut Selena Gomez fans can watch her in episodes of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which are available on Connecticut’s Comcast Xfinity “On Demand.”
