Selena Gomez is setting herself apart from the crowd when it comes to segueing from child star into adult pop singer, and the former “Wizards of Waverly Place” star made it clear during a recent stop on her “Stars Dance” tour. According to an October 24 report by ABC News, the 21-year old singer told her concert crowd: “I get it all day, every day, that I’m not sexy enough. Let me tell you one thing: the sexiest thing, I think, actually, I know, is class and that’s it.”
It’s a message the pop singer has been sending out during her tour. At her concert this week in Hershey, Pa., Gomez told her fans: “You trust me. Parents trust me. I'm always told that I'm not sexy enough or I'm not cool enough or if I did this I would get more followers or whatever. Honestly, the sexiest thing I know is class and that's all I know."
According to People Magazine, in an interview earlier this month for The Ben Davis and Kelly K radio show, Gomez said she doesn’t party like a rock star while on tour. “It’s hard to be a rock star when you’re a pop artist,” she said. “I can’t be like, super-hardcore and then think, ‘Ok, well I’m in a pink sparkly dress.’ I say my rock star version is like the PG-13 version.”
She also refrained from judging her fellow Disney alum Miley Cyrus, who’s taken a much racier career path since graduating from her “Hannah Montana” days.
“I don’t judge people. To each their own,” Gomez said.
