Gomez has suspended the January concerts in Australia and Asia of her "Stars Dance" tour, apparently due to flare ups of lupus. Sources have said that Gomez was diagnosed with lupus a couple of years ago and that she has suffered several flare ups recently which have caused facial swelling, extreme fatigue, headaches and joint pain. Gomez is said to want to take some time to address the disease and look after herself better so she can enjoy a full and healthy life.

Gomez, who is now 21 years old, has been working full throttle the past few years and her lupus has been catching up with her, reports Pop Dust. If Gomez takes care of herself well she may still be able to live a normal life span, but probably with periods of remission and episodes of inflammation. Lupus is a disease in which the immune system attacks, inflames can damage the body's cells and tissues.

With an interest in helping Selena Gomez and other sufferers from lupus the most recent information dealing with lupus has been investigated for an article for, "Lupus can strike anyone: Natural interventions may help." With her positive attitude about life and the support of her family, friends and millions of fans let's hope Gomez can get her lupus under control and enjoy her life and career.
