Selena Gomez has been attracting a lot of attention due to her spending time with ex-lover Justin Bieber, but recently attention was turned to the budding actress for an entirely different reason. Selena Gomez recently decided to pursue a different avenue with her career, and fired her parents as her managers.

While it is not unusual for celebrities and their parents to have different views of their careers, this is a story that will not go away for Selena. A story published on Monday by TMZ reveals that Selena’s parents had no idea that they were about to be replaced. Rather, it seems that Gomez took her parents by surprise.

Sadly, the same story also reveals that Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, is having an extremely difficult time accepting that she is no longer managing her daughter’s career. Fortunately, the transition will be softened because she will continue to work with Selena for several movie projects that were already scheduled.

In addition to firing her parents, Selena Gomez has been busy with numerous other professional projects. However, she recently took a break from her busy schedule to enjoy the sights and sounds of Coachella. Yet, a story from Monday by People reveals that the starlet was not at this famous festival alone. None other than Justin Bieber accompanied the former Disney icon to the event.

There have been many rumours about the nature of the relationship between Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. While the two have a long history of romantic involvement, there has no recent confirmation or denial of the status of their relationship by either of the two stars. Not surprisingly, there are many that want to see Selena Gomez avoid the bad influence that Justin Bieber represents.

Do you think that Selena Gomez made the right decision to fire her parents? Did she handle it in a professional manner or should she have been gentler because she was dealing with her parents?
