Selection Sunday is here and there are a number of teams on the bubble heading into the biggest college basketball day of the year. According to ESPN on March 16, there are 13 teams sitting on the bubble, fighting for up to six open spots in the 2013 March Madness brackets. Here is a look at the Big 12 teams and their chances to make the Big Dance.
Oklahoma Sooners (20-11) - Two weeks ago, the Sooners were a lock for the March Madness tournament. However, late season losses to unranked Texas, last place TCU, and then a tournament loss to Iowa State might have hurt the Sooners' chances. They are still predicted to make the bubble, but late season struggles make them a bubble team.
Iowa State Cyclones (22-11) - The Cyclones have more wins than the Oklahoma Sooners and beat them in the Big 12 tournament, so one would think they would have an advantage over Oklahoma in the Big 12's chances for the tournament. Honestly, the Cyclones should be a clear pick on Selection Sunday.
Baylor Bears (18-14) - Of the three bubble teams in the Big 12, Baylor is the one that will head to a lesser tournament. 18 wins and a .500 record in Big 12 play won't get them into the Big Dance. Their 3-10 record against Top 50 teams is also an indicator they would be over-matched in March Madness.
