The Animal Farm Foundation, an organization dedicated to the protection and rescue focusing on the American pit bull terriers, will be arriving at the Metro Animal Care and Control in Nashville, Tenn. to perform behavioral assessments on the nearly 30 pit bulls and bull dogs surrendered by their owner last week reported wate.com.
In a plea agreement with prosecutors, charges against Davis' wife, Brandy Harper, were dropped in exchange for forfeiting all of the dogs. The dogs are now being cared for and reported to be doing much better.
Michael Davis, 24, faces 27 counts of felony animal fighting.
Many of the adult dogs showed scars and open wounds, indicative of dog fighting operations. Also found on the property were treadmills and other dog fighting training paraphernalia.
A spokesperson for the Meto Animal Care and Control where the dogs are currently being cared for stated:
“We are glad to have the expertise and experience that Animal Farm Foundation brings to this case.”
