Sieshun Con returns to Atlanta tomorrow and. continues through the weekend This is the fifth year for this anime convention which attracts a very enthusiastic young audience, mostly teens and 20's, and mostly cosplayers. The place will be awash with colorful costumes! There's a good chance you will see characters from every anime you've ever seen.
This year the event is taking place at the Westin Atlanta Airport location, moving from last year's Marietta Conference Center location.
Guests are not really the main emphasis at this conventions but include voice actors Ellyn Stern, Micah Solusod and Richard Epcar. There will be panels, videos, vendors and artists, and, of course, a costume contest.
The emphasis for the contest is on creativity, so DIY is the key here.
There will be plenty of opportunity to shop, watch anime, discuss your favorite shows, and win prizes at trivia and other contests.
Admission is $20 for 1 day or $30 for a 3-day pass. That is a lot of fun for not a lot of money!
Last year we attended this convention for the first time, and while we felt much older than we usually do among all those young people, we had a great time, and my husband dominated in trivia contests! We had not heard a lot of publicity for the convention and expected a small crowd, but it was surprisingly well-populated. It is obviously going to continue to grow as word spreads about it.
So put on the anime costume you love most or just come out and enjoy those that others have put together and get your anime fix for the summer at Seishun Con this weekend!
