It's not typically easy to grab low-cost show tickets to see a popular Broadway musical these days, especially one that has already sold out. However, for a select few, Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa confirmed today that producers will be handing out lottery tickets priced at $25 each during 'The Book of Mormon' musical's two-week run at Segerstrom Hall, starting on Tuesday.

Between May 13 and May 25, the multi-Tony-award-winning production will conduct a special lottery prior to a scheduled performance to allow randomly-chosen theatergoers a chance to see the exclusive Orange County engagement, hailed as the "best musical of the century" by leading critics. Lottery opportunities for the national touring production's previous sold-out shows have attracted as many as 800 entries, according to a recent media release.

Two-and-a-half hours prior to each matinee and evening performance, potential audience members will need to arrive at the Segerstrom Hall box office, located at 600 Town Center Drive, to place their names inside a lottery drum. Shortly thereafter, winning names will be drawn for a limited number of reserved seating in the sought-after orchestra section of the theater.

Participants will need to provide a valid photo ID to enter the lottery and, if selected, to purchase a pass for $25 cash. Debit or credit cards will not be accepted. Show producers are limiting the number of winning lottery tickets to two per person. The number of tickets will vary, depending on daily availability.
