Yakuza 3 came out in North America on March 9th and Europe on March 12th. Many thought that the Playstation 3 exclusive would have never been released outside of Japan due to the low sales from the first two titles.
Although Yakuza 3 did not exactly light any sales chart on fire in the west, Sega was pleased with the results so far. An assistant community manager from Sega of America recently posted the following message:
As was mentioned a couple times above, SEGA doesn't generally release any specific numbers in terms of game sales. (Even in Valkyria's case, after a huge surge, we listed percentages.)
So, while I'm not able to give you any numbers, I can at least still confirm that the initial sales were really positive, and that all of the fans who jumped in to support the franchise in the west did a great job.
A fourth Yakuza game is already released in Japan while a PSP spin-off, Project K, was recently announced. Furthermore, Yakuza Kenzan on the Playstation 3 still hasn’t made it over to the west. Hopefully, the sales success for Yakuza 3 in the west could result in more Yakuza games being localized.

I really hope Kenzan, and Y4 will be localized. I supported Y1,2,3 and want to see it all in english. Don't care about voice localization, subtitles are enough.
