Earlier this year, SEGA released stereoscopic 3D remakes of eight of their classic titles for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. In July, the company confirmed that all of those "3D Classics" would eventually see release in North America later in the year, but declined to say exactly when.
Now, with 2013 quickly drawing to a close, we finally have firm release dates and pricing for all eight SEGA 3D Classics, thanks to a new post on the company's blog.
Each game will be priced at $5.99, and two will be released per week on the 3DS eShop according to the following schedule:
November 28th: 3D Space Harrier and 3D Super Hang-On
December 5th: 3D Altered Beast and 3D Sonic the Hedgehog
December 12th: 3D Ecco the Dolphin and 3D Galaxy Force II
December 19th: 3D Shinobi III and 3D Streets of Rage
Much like Nintendo's own line of 3D Classics, each SEGA 3D Classic reimagines its title with stereoscopic 3D visuals. It's still unclear what else, if anything, is changed or tweaked from the original versions of the titles, but SEGA has promised that more information on the 3D Classics line will be coming as the release dates approach.
I'm ready to buy Sonic, Streets of Rage, and Shinobi III (at the very least) just as soon as SEGA will let me! Which SEGA 3D Classics will you be picking up? Let me know in the comments below!
