See the limited edition Beatles items coming to a Target store near you

It looks like the holiday buying season has begun to show itself a little early. Walk into your local Target store you may suddenly find yourself looking at new Beatles items being sold exclusively by the chain.

  • See the slideshow for the new Beatles items at Target
First are the box sets featuring t-shirts and vinyl singles with picture sleeves (remember them?). The t-shirt/vinyl singles sets, which reportedly started appearing Sunday, feature the 45 RPM singles "Help!," "Let It Be," "Hello, Goodbye" and "Can't Buy Me Love." All the vinyl singles feature Capitol Records labels, except for the "Let It Be" single, which features an Apple Records label. The singles look like the original issues except for the fact that Sony/ATV is listed as the music publisher. The picture sleeves are also thicker than the ones that originally were issued back in the day.

The t-shirts don't match up with the picture sleeve covers and have different designs. "Help!" says "The Beatles" on a blue shirt. "Can't Buy Me Love" says "John, Paul, George and Ringo" on a light red shirt. "Hello Goodbye" and "Let It Be" have shots of the group members. The "Let It Be" shirt photo is the same photo used in the Apple iTunes ads. The shirts are available in two sizes S/M and L/XL.

The cost for each box is $19.95. If your local Target carries a smaller inventory, it's possible they won't have these items. We found one that didn't. (They did, however, carry a special t-shirt package for "Glee." Go figure.) You might want to call your local Target and check to be sure they have them before you make the trip.

But they're not the only new items. Also coming to Target but not yet available, sources tell us, are two Christmas ornaments. One features a "Beatles 1" design, the other features a picture of the four Beatles (see the slideshow). Price information was not available for these, but we're told they're very limited and should be out shortly.
