See, ride a Zeppelin at Milwaukee's Timmerman Airport

The Farmers Airship, the largest Zeppelin in the world, is expected to land at Timmerman Airport on Milwaukee's north side on Thursday morning, July 7.

The airship, now on national tour, is the only craft of its kind on the continent that offers rides to the public. On Saturday and Sunday, Milwaukeeans willing to pay the $375 fare might catch a 45-minute "Flightseeing" tour.

Airship Ventures shows the Zeppelin's current location on its website.

According to the Airship Ventures website:

The Zeppilin NT is 246 feet long -- 15 feet longer than a Boeing 747.

Because the airship's engines are mounted to a light, rigid framework, and the aircraft maneuvers precisely, it is termed a Zeppelin, instead of a blimp.

The Farmers logo decorates it as advertizing, but the company has no ownership interest.

To book a reservation, call 650-969-8100, ext. 111, or visit the Airship Ventures contact webpage.
