SeaWorld Orlando just kicked off its 50th anniversary celebration on March 21 with a big ceremony at the park. While the Orlando park has only been around since 1973, the company itself marks 50 years in 2014, as its original San Diego park opened in 1964.

Click the video accompanying this article to see the full opening ceremony, including a speech by the park's president, Terry Prather, and a rendition of the celebration theme song by Kendra Lucas. Prather talks about all the fun you can expect over the next 18 months, including prizes awarded randomly every day. He also talks about Discovery Cove and Aquatica, which will soon open its new water slide. To read more about that, go to this article.

Creative director Steve Welch and Corey Oxman, a senior animal trainer, were also on hand to chat with the media about the new mobile shows that will be roaming the park during the Sea of Surprises and the animal ambassadors who will greet guests in the Sea Garden. Go to this article to hear from Welch, and go here to hear from Oxman.
