YouTube Space LA ( celebrated Dr. Who’s 50th anniversary with a live simulcast pre-show, along with a screening party, that aired on BBC America and on BBC America’s YouTube channel before the world premiere of the TV special “Doctor Who: The Day of The Doctor” on Saturday, Nov. 23.

It was a celebration of Doctor Who and a celebration of one of the most popular and most out bisexual characters ever depicted in the media.

Produced by Nerdist, tech and gaming host Veronica Belmont chatted with special guests YouTube star Phil DeFranco, The Los Angeles Times and reporter Noelene Clark and Myth Busters star Grant Imahara about the wonderful world of Doctor Who, while correspondent Anthony Carboni fielded questions from the studio audience.

The “Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Live Pre-Show” also included a special look at fan-created content shared on social media from celebrations around the globe, a special message from Matt Smith and a bonus feature from the “Doctors” Matt Smith and David Tennant
