With warmer weather fast approaching, now is the perfect time to start focusing on swimsuit season. Part of my preparation of getting ready for trips to the water park and the beach is to get my diet in order. In the winter, I tend to be more lax in my diet and try to tighten things up - diet and body wise - in the spring. As a sufferer of a variety of health ailments, including a gluten sensitivity and psoriasis, it is important for more to adhere to a healthy diet as much as possible. With a particularly stubborn patch of psoriasis on my leg that has yet to clear up in well over a year, I decided to seek the help of a nutritionist to help point me in the right direction. Although I have become less inhibited about showing my legs in a swimsuit during a psoriasis outbreak, if I can speed up the healing via my diet I am all for it.

Although I work from home, my schedule is very hectic due to managing my business and my home life. I have had the desire to visit a nutritionist for two years and have never set aside the time to do so - until now. I couldn't resist the ability to see a nutritionist immediately from the comfort of my home in a matter of minutes thanks to American Well. After a quick process of registering and filling out my profile information, I was able to safely and securely connect to an available nutritionist of my choice. I had the pleasure of speaking with Cristina Cavanagh via video chat. After briefly going over my questions and a brief health history, Cristina provided me with a wealth of information. I was overwhelmed at how knowledgeable she was and excited about her recommendations. I enjoyed our talk so much and was blown away at how easy it was to do something in less than 30 minutes at home that I have been trying to do for the past few years. During our chat, I kept thinking "I should write this down," as to not forget what she advised me to do. At that moment, she told me she would email what we went over as if she read my mind. One less thing I had to worry about - awesome.

As someone who is often short on time, I absolutely love the idea of "visiting" a doctor or nutritionist via American Well without having to get dressed up or leaving the house. Due to the convenience and affordability of this option, I would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat. I am often penalized for canceling appointments due to a change in my schedule or actually not feeling well enough to make it to the appointment. Now I can see someone whenever I need them - 24/7, 365 days a year. I look forward to following-up with Cristina after incorporating her recommendations into my diet. Here's to a healthy and happy swimsuit season!
