But there is a God in heaven Who reveals secrets... Daniel 2:28 I want to know secrets from Him. His secrets are the answers to mysteries...deep, dark mysteries of this world and they come from within a deep, mysterious God of light. He doesn't reveal a secret on a whim but His answers come as He chooses, in HIs timing and when the world is ripe for it. The person must also be ripe to receive it.
Daniel receive the dream and its interpretation for the king. Daniel was quick to say "i'm no different than anyone else. God revealed the dream for you, king. For your peace of mind."
Through the years God has given secrets to His prophets in abstract, symbolic dreams which He would explain or leave the meaning untold. To Moses though, He spoke plainly the secrets for His people. Moses was God's friend. David knew God's heart. God revealed Himself to him because David was completely open and honest before Him.
When the world was ready, in the fulness of time, Jesus came to be born of a virgin to show the world God's face. Jesus, God's Son, came and told stories, healed men and women, and gave thanks for the bread and the wine on His last night before the cross, all to show us the secret that had been kept so long...God is love. He's a love that gives all, pours Himself out, for the capture of our hearts.
