On Wednesday, September 12, 2012, Kaufman County deputies were able to locate and arrest a second suspect wanted in connection with recent burglaries in Kemp, Texas. The suspect is Christopher Patterson, 19, of Kemp. KCSO previously arrested Adrian Michael Anderson for his part in the same rash of burglaries. The City of Kemp disbanded their police department in May of 2012 and the Sheriff's Office took over patrol duties in Kemp.
The arrest of Patterson took place at about 7:15 p.m. in Kaufman County. He and Anderson are suspected of burglarizing two businesses in Kemp as well as several vehicles within the city. The businesses burglarized were the Sac-A-Burger and the Snow Cone Stand. Sac-A-Burger was hit in May of 2012 and the Snow Cone Stand was burglarized in June of 2012. The vehicle burglaries also took place in June. KCSO says more arrests are expected in these cases and the investigation is ongoing.
Christopher Patterson was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Patterson was taken to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center, where bond is set at $20,000.00.
