On May 13, 2014, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local home improvement store regarding a tip from a customer that recognized a man, later identified as Roberto B. Suarez, 51, 1715 Common Street, Lake Charles, who was wanted in connection with the theft of a weed trimmer and chainsaw, valued at over $750, from Stine Lumber in Sulphur.

While en route, deputies were advised Suarez had left the home improvement store and was now inside another nearby store.

Upon arrival, deputies entered the store and apprehended Suarez without incident. During a search for officer safety, deputies discovered Suarez to be in possession of stolen merchandise from the store, as well as an electric saw, which was stolen from the home improvement store.

Suarez was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of theft under $500; and theft over $500.

Judge David Ritchie set his bond at $30,000.

CPSO detectives previously arrested Kellie R. Comeaux, 45, 6675 Highway 90 East, Lake Charles, on May 8. She was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $500. Judge Kent Savoie set her bond at $2,500.
