Second indecent exposure incident reported in Palo Alto

Palo Alto police are reporting another indecent exposure incident, the second of its kind in two days.

Officers responded to the Equinox fitness center on Portage Avenue just before 7 a.m. Thursday after a gym employee called to report that a member had just seen a man with his pants down near the facility.

According to the victim, she had been walking through a glassed-in hallway that connects two buildings when she noticed the suspect standing on the other side of the glass looking in. The suspect was last seen headed eastbound on Acadia Avenue towards Fry’s Electronics.

The victim did not want to involve police, according to the gym employee, but authorities were notified anyway. The victim left the gym prior to police arrival, but provided a suspect description to the employee.

The man is described as being white, in his 20s, and between 6’ and 6’2” tall. He weighed about 180 pounds and had dark hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head and black sweatpants.

The incident occurred less than a half-mile away from a similar incident that took place Tuesday night. Investigators believe the two incidents are likely related and have increased patrols in the area.

Anyone with information about these crimes is urged to contact Palo Alto police at (650) 329-2413.
