'Second Generation Wayans': Damien Dante Wayans talks series, family legacy

"Second Generation Wayans" is a new BET series set to premiere on Tuesday, January 15th following the premiere of Kevin Hart's new series "Real Husbands of Hollywood."

The series stars Damien Dante Wayans, Craig Wayans, George O. Gore II and Tatyana Ali.

"Second Generation Wayans" is a hilarious new scripted comedy based on the lives of the members of the next generation of the Wayans family. Viewers will get a realistic look at the good, the funny and the ugly as Damien and Craig emerge from the long shadows of their uncles to carve out their own paths to stardom in Hollywood, joining them on this ride is friend and business partner George O. Gore II.

In the series, the guys struggle to get out from relative obscurity, they also struggle with their individual love lives. Damien has an on-again, off-again relationship with Regina Hall. Craig is a single father with baby mama drama. And George is flat out distrustful of women. The show follows Damien, Craig, and George as they try to make their own names in Hollywood—they may get into any club on account of the Wayans name, but their entrance into the VIP booths are far from guaranteed. Their assistant Maya (Tatyana Ali) is often the glue that keeps them together. Expect to see cameos throughout the season.

Classic TV Examiner caught up with cast member Damien Dante Wayans at the series premiere held at the Regal Theater in LA Live earlier this week. Check out the video on this page where the actor shares his thoughts on the series and also talks about his famous family.
