Second Chance for Animals (SCFA) is a non-profit group of volunteers who assist the Franklin Township Animal Shelter with food, supplies and medical care. They are sponsoring a special adoption event designed especially for any military veteran, current personnel or their families that will take place November 12-16, 2013.
“We feel that the love of a cat, dog, or other pet truly enhances a home,” said Tom Young, volunteer and board member. “To honor our veterans and the sacrifices they and their families make for us every day, SCFA would like to reimburse the cost of bringing one of the Franklin Township Animal Shelter pets into their home.”
For every pet adopted from the Franklin Township Animals Shelter from November 12 through November 16 by a United States military veteran or their family, SCFA will send a check for up to $60 to them for reimbursement of the adoption fee.
Proof of military service will be required. An adoption card will be provided. Simply send the adoption card to SCFA in order to receive your adoption fee reimbursement.
The Franklin Township Animal Shelter is located at 475 DeMott Lane, Somerset, NJ 08873 Telephone: 732-873-2500 ext. 6255
The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 12-3 p.m. Some of the available pets can be viewed online at Petfinder here.
