A second bike corral helps Knoxville become more environmentally friendly. The corral offers bicyclists who are touring the city a secure place to lock bikes while doing some shopping or sight seeing. Visitors and locals can find the corral in the 500 block of Gay Street.
It is close to both the Regal Cinema and the Tennessee Theatre. Mast General Store, Krutch Park and Market Square mall are also near the bike corral. This area of downtown Knoxville also has a number of shops, upscale restaurants and local eateries.
The Market Square Mall District Association in Knoxville hosts the monthly First Friday event. It starts in the 100 block of Gay Street and continues past the Tennessee Theatre. It is described as an "enjoyable gallery walk downtown". Restaurants feature live performances by jazz and other music artists. Galleries are open. Many shops have specials that night. It occurs in downtown Knoxville on the First Friday of the month.
