Southwest Human Development is inviting the Phoenix community to their annual Easter Seals Walk With Me fundraiser. The benefit will help fund programs to help local children with developmental disabilities through Southwest Human Development's expansive advocacy and educational support services. This year's goal of more than $100,000 can only be reached with the help of families and businesses all over the Valley of the Sun.
Southwest Human Development has the help of some generous contributors though with Willis of Phoenix and Humana offering a hand. Budget cuts throughout Arizona have deeply impacted programs that benefit children with disabilities and like many agencies, Southwest Human Development stay afloat with the support of these donations. Southwest Human Development also stands strong as an established presence in early childhood education and mental health wellness. Of their generous presenters, Ginger Ward, CEO of Easter Seals Southwest Human Development, said, “We are grateful to Willis and Humana for their generous sponsorship of Walk With Me and the impact they will have on so many families,”
The walk will take place on Saturday, May 1 and offers a 1.25-mile walk through Steele Indian School Park at 300 East Indian School Road in Phoenix. Registration and check in for the race begins at 7:00am with a pre-walk program following at 8:00am. The Walk With Me participants can begin their trek at 8:20. Teams are coming together and gathering support for this event that is sure to be fun for the entire family.
