Carrera Races is holding its second annual RED RUN® 5K Run/Walk Event this Saturday to benefit the American Heart Association and Go Red for Women. Registration is still open and participants can register online at Carrera Races.

With the knowledge that heart disease is the biggest health threat to women The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign is actively trying to increase awareness in the community. Their campaign includes a combination of education, funding and research while at the same time empowering women to take control of their health.

Activities for the day will include the race, plenty of heart healthy snacks and shopping at The Shops at La Cantera. There will also be live music, shopping sales, inspirational stories and much more. Runners will receive a commemorative racer’s t-shirt and a runner’s sack filled with gifts. Packet pick up will be on Friday February 7 at Brio Tuscan Grill from 4p.m. to 7p.m. For more information check Carrera Races online.
