The Denver fashion scene is a force to be reckoned with. Over the years, Coloradans and Denverits have witnessed or worked with the talented, creative, and very passionate individuals. A number of them have showcased their talent on national television for everyone to see.
On February 8th, Mondo Guerra, as seen on Project Runway season 8 and All Stars, will once again join forces with Goodwill Industries of Denver for the second annual Good Exchange for Change Fashion Show and Clothing Swap at the Exdo Center in Denver from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.
Not only will there be a fashion show showcasing original pieces using repurposed Goodwill clothing created by the talented students with Goodwill’s youth programs at CEC Middle College in Denver and Denver School of Arts; three Project Runway alumni including Mondo, Fallene Wells and Julie Tierey, all from Colorado will be judging the show.
Last year, a young model and designer Maddie Duke took the grand prize of $500 to Denver Fabric. Her outfit was an adorable layered print skirt with cherry red overalls. Just think of the possibilities for this year’s show.
Mondo will also be auditioning an original outfit from his collection. Fallene and Julie will also be auctioning off fabulous pieces from repurposed Goodwill clothing.
Have some adorable shirts, dresses, pants, and so on that are not getting the love they deserve? Find at least 10 items and bring them to exchange with other guests. It is the perfect opportunity to get out with the old and get in with the new.
The VIP tickets are $50, which includes a meet, and greet session with Mondo before the event and VIP seating for the fashion show. General admission tickets are $25; both include the fashion show, clothing exchange, and great food. Last year, it was a packed house; make sure to buy your tickets right away.
