Second Annual David Ortiz Children's Fund Gala at Mandarin Oriental

Last year, the David Ortiz Children's Fund put on the first gala event to raise money for the organization. This year, 2014, the gala is happening again in a big way. Lucky guests will have a night full of familiar faces and general festivities. However, the best part is the reason for the party. The proceeds go to helping the David Ortiz Children's Fund in conjunction with the World Pediatric Project and Mass General Hospital. These organizations provide pediatric care to children in New England and David Ortiz's native Dominican Republic.

The 2nd Annual David Ortiz Children's Fund Gala starts off right with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. Those on the VIP list will meet in the Bangkok Ballroom for the cocktail reception. There is a general guest cocktail reception in the Oriental Ballroom. Both with be lovely and well attended. Expect live music, dancing and classy revelry with the man himself, who is playing host for all guests.

Once everyone is done loosening up, chatting and having a little fun, the Oriental Ballroom will host a seated dinner starting at 7 p.m. In a nod to Red Sox Slugger Mr. David Ortiz, the cuisine theme of the evening will be Dominican. The event runs until 9 p.m. and a silent and live auction of memorabilia will boost the fundraising possibilities of the gala.
