Second Amendment Supported Only by “Old White Guys”….. Well, not so Much
This week, the LA Times said that conservative white men, in their support of the Second Amendment, are worse than terrorists and need monitoring. This was prompted by a report from the Southern Poverty Law Center which called on the US Justice Department to take action. The Town Criers, a Saint Augustine Tea Party (SATP) committee, has been engaging the public in the historic area of St Augustine, FL. each week. St Augustine provides a national audience as the City hosts visitors from all over the country.
Since January 19, 2013, their topic has been the 2nd amendment. The Town Criers reported that, it is not old white guys; it is young, old, male, female, black, white and Hispanic. This diverse group of People comes from every State in the Union.
How young? Consider the youngsters pictured above. Their parents encouraged them to pose with the Town Crier’s Second Amendment signs. “Each boy came armed with a [toy] flint lock pistol. Imagine, they actually pointed them into the crowd. Can you imagine what would happen if they took their toys to school? Lord, how I despise ‘Political Correctness’. There was a time when this Marxist nonsense didn’t exist in America. The Government’s challenge to our ‘Right to Bear Arms’ is uniting people. We can only hope that, in their righteous indignation, the people will put an end to the tyranny of this progressive era,” remarked Dave Heimbold, SATP Chairman. The diversity of the Second Amendment support is reflected in photographs accompanying this article. “Based on our experience, the Southern Poverty Law Center will need to expand their terrorist list to include the vast majority of the American population. The Second Amendment isn’t about white males; it touches everyone,” Mr. Heimbold said.
