The Seahawks will play the Denver Broncos Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in what will be just the second Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.
"This team was ready to finish," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after the victory.
The Seahawks weren't predicted by many to win the NFC title, but at least one fan correctly predicted that the team would earn a Super Bowl berth this season.
Way back in August of 2013, XFC strawweight champ Stephanie "Snowflake" Eggink went on record in a radio show with a prediction that the Seattle Seahawks would reach Super Bowl XLVIII.
"Let's just say when the Seahawks play the Vikings, me and Shayna [Baszler] don't speak for about 48 hours," Eggink said. "We're big football fans. Actually this year the Seahawks have like four ex-Vikings players on their roster, so it's an extra special season.
"Mark my words. The Seahawks are going to go to the Super Bowl this year. I'll put money on that."
Eggink, a world-renowned MMA star, wasn't crazy to pick the Seahawks to go all the way, as the team had one of the strongest overall rosters heading into the season.
The Seahawks made several roster moves this season, many of which worked out great for coach Pete Carroll and company.
With Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin holding it down as Russell Wilson's top targets on offense, and Percy Harvin serving as a game-changer in the backfield, this Seahawks team was able to hang with the best of the best.
