Odd as it may seem, Seattle Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson is apparently a big fan of the daytime soap The Young and the Restless. He confessed his love of the show on a recent appearance on NFL Total Access, saying that “watching the stories” on the long-running CBS soap was his “guilty pleasure.” Apparently producers of the show heard about Robinson’s passion for the program and invited him on in a guest role, CBS announced today.
Robinson was written into a scene with business tycoon Victor Newman, played by Daytime Emmy-winner Eric Braeden. The Super Bowl champ shot his scenes last week and the episode is scheduled to air on Thursday, March 13.
“It was an amazing experience! I’ve been a fan for years and it was great to meet the personalities on the show,” Robinson said. “I’ve always thought Y&R was the best show on daytime television because their storylines are always entertaining and intriguing. They welcomed me with open arms and I felt like a part of the Y&R family.”
.After four years in Seattle, Robinson emerged as a key leader for the Seahawks, but SeattlePI.com reports that the eight year veteran is unlikely to remain with the team next season, due to the emergence of backup Derrick Coleman.
