According to Friday's publication of TMZ Sports, a Seattle Seahawks player is facing a lawsuit for allegedly abandoning his puppy at a Tampa, Fla., dog resort and daycare facility.

TMZ reported that Michael Bennett, who plays as a defensive end for the Seahawks, is being sued for the abandonment of a boxer puppy named "Koa," who allegedly became so distraught after being left at the Lucky Dog Daycare & Resort, that the pup started to refuse food and lose weight.

Bennett apparently put Koa into boarding at the facility last March when he made the move from Florida to Seattle, Wash. For reasons unknown, the NFL player never retrieved his puppy.

Adding insult to injury, the boarding facility claims that they were never paid for the months that the boxer pup was in their care.

According to the TMZ publication, the resort and daycare facility is hoping to recoup the amount of boarding fees that they were allegedly denied as well as the costs that they incurred to help find Koa a foster home.

The adorable puppy has since found a new guardian, and today and they are calling the pup "Quigley."
