Seattle's Totokaelo was one of three retailers in the country featured in the April 2014 edition of the GQ 100, a list that the men's fashion magazine compiles that it describes as "our up-to-the-minute guide to the men's fashion universe."
GQ had this to say about the Capitol Hill store:
You can excuse us if we hear “Pacific Northwest” and think: log-cabin-inspired, taxidermy-inflected haberdashery. Totokaelo (pronounced toh-toh-kye-oh) is not that. It's a midcentury-modern space (and by “midcentury” we mean 2054) where the men's floor feels like Morpheus's lair in The Matrix…but with indigo A.P.C. sweaters. There are also art objects, stacks of books, and designy furniture—in case you want to make your living room into the Totokaelo of your town. Also: If you're low on SkyMiles, the website is fully stocked.
Totokaelo is located at 1523 10th Avenue in Seattle. They are open Monday to Thursday from 11 AM to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM,
