Seattle Sounders FC forward Clint Dempsey earned a second straight Major League Soccer Player of the Week honour on Monday for Week 6 of the 2014 MLS season.

Dempsey led Seattle to a 3-2 road win over FC Dallas, handing the league leaders their first defeat of the season.

With FC Dallas leading 1-0 in the 22nd minute, Dempsey leveled the score by drilling a spectacular 35-yard free kick that bounced off the crossbar and into the net.

In the 75th minute with Dallas leading 2-1, Dempsey sent in a dangerous cross that deflected off FC Dallas defender Stephen Keel for an own goal.

Dempsey continued his top form late into the match, finishing off a nice give-and-go sequence with fellow forward Chad Barrett in the 85th minute to seal the win in his home state.

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR). http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
