Seattle rapper Freddy E dies In apparent suicide

In the first week of the new year, the Seattle hip-hop community was hit with tragedy after artist and online personality Freddy E, 22, passed away this past Saturday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Details regarding the exact cause are still not clear.

The Seattle Times reports that Frederick E. Buhl died Saturday in Renton. Buhl's father posted on Facebook that his family was "saddened beyond words."

"Not only our family, but the world has lost a talented, sensitive, brilliant young man who lit up our existence with his," Douglass Buhl said.

The 22-year-old also was known for his provocative YouTube program Jerk TV. The channel has thousands of subscribers and millions of video views.

Medical Examiner's Office investigator Nick Fletcher says suicide is the presumed cause of death, but an autopsy is scheduled to take place sometime on Monday (1/7).

According to reports, Buhl committed suicide after breaking up with female rapper and Last Kings recording artist, Honey Cocaine whose real name is Sochitla Sal.

Buhl took to Twitter to write a disturbing message to his 100k-plus followers, saying, "This barrel never felt so good next to my dome. It's cold & I'd rather die than live alone."

In his final messages on Twitter he wrote:

“I love you Mom.” “I love you Dad.” “I love you Katherine.” “God... please forgive me.” His last message to his fans said, “I’m sorry.”

Sal tweeted earlier today, “I love you too ‪@Freddy_E.. The end of the video is beautiful." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze0J0VD51zQ&feature=youtu.be …

Members of Buhl’s family gathered Sunday at their church, First AME in Seattle.
