Although Saint Patrick's Day is on Monday, March 17, the celebrations have already begun. The Irish Heritage Club of Seattle is in full shamrock swing for Irish Week 2014. The activities started on March 1 with an Irish Soda Bread Cooking Class and run through March 22 at Tacoma's Museum of Glass with Ceili Mor, an Irish dance celebration.

The big event is the 33rd Annual Irish Festival at Seattle Center the weekend of March 15-16. New this year are a glass engraving demo by Ireland's premier glass artist, Roison de Buitlear; an all-day workshop on using commercial ancestral DNA testing to pinpoint a person's Irish (and other) ancestry; Irish born and Seattle-based photographer Rozarii Lynch's show Connections -- images of being Irish while living in Seattle.
