It’s time once again for the biggest Seattle cat event of the year – Catapalooza. This celebration of all things feline, hosted by the Seattle Humane Society, will take place Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Admiring the adorable adoptables is just part of the event. Face-painting, prizes, cat-toy making and an education station for kids will be bumpin’. (I don't know if you have to be a kid to make the cat toys, but I will totally sit in a tiny chair if it means working with feathers and a glue stick.)
There will also be cat training demonstrations, cat-related art, treats, leashes, collars and more -- so even if you aren't in the market for a new cat, it's a good time.
In addition to SHS cats, you’ll also meet kittens and cats from: PurrfectPals, South County Cats, Homeward Pet, Feral Care, Seattle Persian and Himalayan Rescue, King County Animal Care and Control and Meow. That means hundreds of felines to choose from!
If you have an interest or experience with special cats, the MaxMobile adoption vehicle will be on site with Seattle Humane’s special needs cats on board!
Also a dog lover? Don’t forget to visit with SHS’s shelter dogs who will also be joining in the celebration! Bunnies, birds and other small critters will be peeping their little heads in on the action periodically, so say “hi” to them as well so that they feel included.
