Other selections include Ken Russell’s Who-related Tommy, the Washington-based teen comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, the pickpocket drama Loosies and the French doc Crazy Horse about the titular cabaret.
Looking for a solid Valentine’s Day date, might I suggest the sing-a-long version of Moulin Rouge! Four comedies are also playing over the next week; Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Fletch, Beverly Hills Cop II and The Room…wait…that last one’s a drama. Are you sure?
With romance in the air, Midnight Madness for the weekend is Seattle favorite Say Anything. Additionally, Landmark’s Varsity Theatre will be running the Oscar nominated shorts, animated and live-action, for anyone with the unhealthy need to see everything Academy related.
Those who missed the chance to see the new horror classic The House of the Devil or the much beloved Drive on the big screen, GIC is giving you another chance. Documentary SpokAnarchy!, a look at Spokane’s 80s punk scene, is running too.
Wings, the first film to ever win Best Picture at the Oscars, is showing. Abbas Kiarostami’s (Certified Copy) Koker Trilogy and a pair of Nicholas Ray features (We Can’t Go Home Again & Don’t Expect Too Much) can be found as well.
