Seattle stopped for a few hours on Saturday to cheer on the Americans in their World Cup opener against England. It all ended with Stars and Stripes held high thanks to a muff by the opposing keeper. 1:1 was the final and both countries stay in the chase to advance to the next round.
Perhaps the largest local gathering was held by the Seattle chapter of the American Outlaws. Several hundred supporters packed into Neumos to watch the match. See a few more photos courtesy of ECSphoto in the gallery below.

Checked out Nord Alley for this game and tho not the most posh setting, it was fun. Later in the game he sun was a bit bright for the screen however, and the USA players in their dark kits were tough to see. Since I was working less than a block away I was able to slip out several times to see live portions of the game. (Couldn't find a podcast to save my life - help, anyone?)
Watched my recording in detail later in the evening at home.
Awesome!
