Seattle's Hammering Man transformed into the 12th Man on Blue Friday

Art and football came together in downtown Seattle when the Emerald City's Hammering Man became the 12th Man. On Blue Friday, January 10 around 4 PM, Hammering Man donned his own #12 jersey and will shine brightly all night long.

Although artist Jonathan Borofsky's sculpture won't be wearing an actual jersey, the Seattle Art Museum projected the number 12 onto Hammering Man -- magically transforming him into the 12th Man. In addition, visitors wearing Seahawks gear on Friday receive 2 FOR 1 admission (just say "12th Man" at the admissions desk).

More About Hammering Man

The 48-ft. tall Hammering Man sculpture by artist Jonathan Borofsky is located at the entrance to the downtown Seattle Art Museum at First Avenue and University Street. The Seattle Arts Commission installed Hammering Man on September 12, 1992, as part of the City of Seattle's public art program. He is made of hollow-fabricated steel, aluminum mechanized arm, electric motor and black automotive paint.
