With Fall and the change of colors, we are talking about change at Examiner.
This article will be about change and the topic of “coming home”.
Your Examiner was baptized in St. Steven’s Church, Windsor, Ontario, an Anglican Church. Last Fall she came home after 32 years of residing in the states and attended St. Mark’s, Tecumseh and more recently St. Andrew’s, LaSalle.
Attending St. Andrew’s was like taking a walk back home to St. Steven’s: their Anglican services so similar in nature.
Their website says about St. Andrew’s:
“St Andrew's is a welcoming community of ordinary people learning to worship God, love one another, and serve all people. Each week a wide range of folk meet here to worship and discover more about the love of God revealed to them through Jesus Christ.”
The church is located at Laurier and Divine and is tucked away in LaSalle.“St Andrew's is God's little secret tucked away in the heart of LaSalle.” The church has been a part of the community “since the mid 1930’s” – LaSalle Silhouette, 9/12/2008, and “In 2000 the Church celebrated its 50th anniversary.” The Silhouette further enlightens us: “Determination and devotion made St. Andrew’s a vibrant community asset.” This is impressive in that originally “The Church started as a Mission Parish of St. John’s on Sandwich Street.”
A former article dated September 12, 2008, LaSalle Silhouette defines St. Andrew’s: “Today, the parishioners of St. Andrew’s still continue the spirit of the Anglican Church of LaSalle with their many outreach programs and their commitment to being a neighbourhood icon.”
The service is very easy to follow and Reverend Pearce delivers a service par excellence. You really should take the time to come see this tiny little treasure located in the heart of LaSalle. St. Andrew’s holds services at 8:00 a.m. and 11:00.
